Dr Belle Ling has been shortlisted for the Mary Gilmore Award 2026
We are delighted to announce that Dr Belle Ling, Lecturer on the MA in Global English Literary and Cultural Studies (MA-GELCS) programme, has been shortlisted for the Mary Gilmore Award 2026. Her debut poetry collection Nebulous Vertigo (Tupelo Press, 2025) was selected for this prestigious annual prize, which honours the best first book of poetry awarded by the Association for the Study of Australian Literature (ASAL).

Dr Ling teaches the new creative writing module under Special Topics in Cultural Studies on the MA-GELCS programme. Dr Ling’s poetry collection, Nebulous Vertigo, published by Tupelo Press, is a beautiful and innovative meditation on everyday life and inevitable fate.
